Despite being May the weather reports across Europe were rather lousy so I made a last minute dash over to Istanbul. The city is rapdily becoming Europe's largest and this is reflected in the energy (and crowds) of the place. This combined with the fascinating history, culture, architecture and geography made it a very interesting place to sepnd 4 days.

As an added bonus there was also the wonderful food, especially if your teeth are as sweet as mine and you like Turkish baklavas!
