I'd left booking this trip right until the last moment - I checked the weather forecasts around Europe and whilst most of the continent was was under a deluge of rain, central Germany was basking in the sun.

I had never been further east in Europe than Holland so it was great to see a new city in a new country. The city far surpassed my expectations with even the infamous currywurst (pork sausage slathered in ketchup and curry powder) tasting surprisingly good. The mixture of the old and the modern architecture provided an inspiring backdrop for a great few days photography.
